Craft MNL – Estancia Mall

Picture
Bazaars are absolutely fun! This year alone I have been to many and thanks to these places, the knick-knacks in my room have expanded and the trinkets on my bookshelf have grown. Through bazaars I have met a lot of great people (Poala Esteron of Crafty Kitty and Ebony Paguia of Hands Love Papers, Lorenzo Gabutina and the people of Bicspokes) and have also reconnected with some (Migz Valdez of Artsy Kit). This time around my last bazaar visit would be the pop-up bazaar of Craft MNL in Estancia Mall in Pasig City.

I bought Lily, the pink and green one for Tricia
The first shop that I went to, or rather we went to (my family was with me), was Knitting Expedition. A store owned by my sister who sells cute hand-knitted monsters made from the mothers in Ifugao Province. For quite some time I have been hearing my sister talk about her little monsters and the stories she’s made about the monster’s personality. I saw the monsters firsthand when Tricia and I dropped by my sister’s first ever bazaar at Whitespace in Makati. Since I am always supportive of any of my family’s ventures, be it a Ph.D. abroad or going on into a new business venture. I bought a the second to the last limited edition monster named Lily for Tricia.

A familiar booth that I finally had the time to appreciate

Sqooid’s interesting stamps
Other than Knitting Expedition there was another familiar face in Craft MNL. Sqooid from the Escolta Weekend Market was also present. Though I didn’t really pay too much attention to their booth before, simply because of the sheer number of sellers. This time I had the opportunity to see their products up close and personal. Sqooid sells stamps for any and all occasions, if I had been more probing I would have probably found out if they make personal ones as well. Nevertheless, I also didn’t pass up the chance to buy one of their products. A bird stamp that had a very nice detail to it for Php. 200 (it comes with its own stamp pad).

There is an awakening of the force
Apart from the stamps and the monsters that I bought. Another seller that caught my eye was Details Ink. Their distinct and very tribal like patters of Darth Vader’s mask was eye catching. They sold some pretty cool stuff like postcards, letter envelopes, and small posters of pop culture.
Since the pop up booth was small I was able to cover a lot of ground very quickly. There were a lot of sellers offering a lot of cool things.

After all the Christmas shopping and the food binges, you might find an abundance of shopping bags in your home. Check out Kariton and see what they’ve done to those shopping bags.

Here’s something interesting, check out Aromateria and watch out for their witty postcards with popular Filipino quotes
Though came to Craft MNL in Estancia to support my sister’s venture. It was also a great opportunity to check out interesting items and crafts made by a lot of creative people.
